Neste Oil OyjNeste secures feedstock supply for renewable diesel and SAF, meeting growing biofuel demand.
Bayer and Neste, the world's leading producer of renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel, have finalized a commercial agreement to jointly scale Bayer's newgold® winter canola, aiming to expand acres in the Southern Great Plains of the U.S. as a feedstock for renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel. The collaboration will enable Bayer to significantly increase winter canola acreage, strengthening the supply of lower-carbon-intensity feedstocks to meet growing global demand for biofuels, which is estimated to rise almost threefold to approximately 40 billion gallons by 2040. The high-protein meal from the winter canola will be sold into the feed market for dairy, beef cattle, poultry, and swine. Bayer aims to launch newgold® winter canola hybrids in the fall of 2027, featuring winter-hardiness, TruFlex® technology, and pod shatter resistance. The companies are also establishing a newgold® network with additional value chain partners to support expansion and ensure a market for farmers.
