SAB Biotherapeutics IncBreakthrough T1D grant supports clinical assessment of SAB-142, a Phase 2b immunotherapy for type 1 diabetes, with analyst Overweight rating and $13 PT.

SAB Biotherapeutics and Breakthrough T1D announced that Breakthrough T1D has awarded a research grant to Dr. Michael J. Haller of the University of Florida to support a clinical assessment of SAB-142 in Stage 3 type 1 diabetes patients. The study will evaluate whether SAB-142 can preserve endogenous C-peptide and regulate immune responses in individuals with residual beta cell activity between 100 days and 2 years after diagnosis. SAB-142 is a human polyclonal immunotherapeutic antibody currently in Phase 2b clinical trials for autoimmune type 1 diabetes. Barclays analyst Eliana Merle recently initiated coverage of SAB Biotherapeutics with an Overweight rating and a $13 price target, citing the immunotherapy's potential as a disease-altering treatment and expecting Phase 2b data in the second half of 2027 as a key catalyst.
