Coinbase Global IncArmstrong points to the CLARITY Act as a key catalyst that clearer U.S. crypto regulation could unlock institutional capital, benefiting Coinbase.

Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong reaffirmed in a September 10 interview that he still sees Bitcoin reaching $400,000 by 2030, calling it a reasonable target. Armstrong said he believes the bottom of the current roughly four-year cycle is already in, noting Bitcoin recently found support around the $60,000 area before recovering and that the down period has just passed the one-year mark. He pointed to the CLARITY Act as a key potential catalyst, saying clearer U.S. crypto regulation would be a big milestone that could unlock institutional capital and bring tokenized equities to the United States. Armstrong also tied Bitcoin's outlook to rising government spending and debt markets, arguing capital flows into Bitcoin like gold when spending gets out of control, and said regulated stablecoins following the GENIUS Act are now structural buyers of U.S. government debt. He added that the next Bitcoin halving, expected in 2028, has historically been preceded by price run-ups, and that the next year or two should be good for Bitcoin. Bitcoin was trading at $77,706 at press time.
