Tesla IncCompensation plan tied to ambitious growth targets, potentially rewarding Musk and aligning interests.

Elon Musk could become a trillionaire again by leading Tesla to enormous growth under a compensation plan that requires the company's market cap to reach $8.5 trillion. The plan grants Musk up to nearly 424 million shares in 12 tranches, with the first 35.3 million shares vesting at a $2 trillion market cap and the rest as Tesla marches toward $8.5 trillion. Tesla must also manufacture at least 20 million electric vehicles, a minimum of 1 million AI robots, and put at least 1 million robotaxis into service, while achieving up to $400 billion in annual adjusted EBITDA. Tesla's current market cap stands at just under $1 trillion, and last year's adjusted EBITDA was just under $15 billion. Musk must reach these goals within 10 years of shareholder approval late last year and remain in an approved executive role when the awards vest.
