Ford Motor Company beat Wall Street estimates for second-quarter profit and raised its full-year earnings guidance, sending shares up more than 5% in premarket trading. The automaker reported adjusted earnings of $0.42 per share, topping analyst estimates of $0.30, with revenue of $48.3 billion ahead of the $45.86 billion expected. Adjusted EBIT fell 26% year-over-year to $1.72 billion but still exceeded the $1.31 billion forecast. Ford raised its full-year adjusted EBIT guidance to a range of $10 billion to $11 billion, up from a prior range of $8.5 billion to $10.5 billion, and lifted its adjusted free cash flow outlook to $6 billion to $7 billion. By segment, Ford Blue posted revenue of $26.1 billion and EBIT of $1.14 billion, both above estimates, while the electric vehicle unit Ford Model e reported an EBIT loss of $919 million, narrower than the expected $1.09 billion loss.
