Meta Platforms Inc.Meta is developing Arena, a prediction markets app, but impact on Meta is unclear as it's a new initiative.
Meta is developing a standalone prediction markets app called Arena, sending shares of DraftKings and Robinhood lower on Tuesday. CEO Mark Zuckerberg directed a small team to build the platform, which will initially use a points-based system rather than real-money wagering, though cash betting could be added later. The company plans to leverage its social platforms, which collectively draw 3.56 billion daily visitors, to funnel users into Arena. DraftKings stock fell as much as 2% before paring losses to around 1%, while Robinhood, which offers event contracts from several prediction market platforms, also declined. The move intensifies competition in a sector where trading volume across Kalshi and Polymarket surpassed $130 billion in 2026 alone.
