PTTEP and its subsidiaries, together with PC JDA Limited, a subsidiary of PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd., have signed a Production Sharing Contract (PSC) with the Malaysia-Thailand Joint Authority (MTJA) for Block A-18-01 in the Malaysia-Thailand Joint Development Area. The joint venture partners each hold a 50% participating interest. They have also signed a Gas Sales Agreement (GSA) with PTT and PETRONAS. Both contracts have a term of 35 years, effective from January 1, 2026. Block A-18-01 covers the former Block A-18 area and additional areas, with a natural gas production capacity of approximately 300-400 million cubic feet per day. The gas will be supplied to Thailand and Malaysia in equal proportions. The gas delivered to Thailand accounts for approximately 4% of domestic demand, for power generation in the southern region. The block is located in the lower Gulf of Thailand, covering an area of approximately 3,494 square kilometers. It is a significant source of natural gas and condensate, enhancing long-term energy security.
