Ramsdens Holdings shares surged 28% to 580 pence after it agreed to a recommended cash takeover by US pawnbroking group FirstCash, valuing the company at around £206 million. Shareholders will receive up to 609 pence per share, well above Ramsdens' all-time high. In other small-cap news, IP Group rejected a £616 million takeover approach from its largest shareholder Railpen, which has until 20 July to make a firm bid or walk away. Metals One built a 5.57% stake in Talon Resources as the latter began trading on AIM and switched from a cash shell to a gold explorer focused on Ontario's Eagle Lake project, where historical samples hit 204 grams per tonne of gold. Tertiary Minerals unveiled a new silver-copper exploration target at Mushima North in Zambia estimated at 15 to 30 million tonnes, with drilling returning a 97-metre intersection at 56 grams of silver per tonne.
