RTX CorporationAwarded $22.9B Tomahawk contract to accelerate production, boosting defense backlog and sales guidance.

The U.S. military has awarded RTX Corporation's Raytheon business a $22.9 billion contract to accelerate Tomahawk missile production, a key part of replenishing depleted stockpiles. The seven-year deal will boost annual output to 1,000 missiles from 60, and it builds on a framework agreement signed in February. RTX ended Q2 with a record backlog of $289 billion, including $119 billion in defense, and raised its full-year sales guidance to $95–96 billion. However, the production ramp-up poses execution risks, and the stock trades at a premium valuation. Hedge funds increased their stakes in Q1, with Fisher Asset Management holding the largest position.
