Rivian Automotive IncBeats Q2 revenue and EPS estimates, raises $1.3B equity, and secures investments from VW and Uber.
Rivian reported second-quarter 2026 revenue of $1.66 billion, beating analyst estimates of $1.54 billion and growing 27.2% year on year. Its adjusted loss per share of $0.47 also topped expectations of a $0.62 loss. The company attributed the performance to initial deliveries of the new R2 vehicle, which generated over 57,000 demo drives and higher-than-expected order conversions for the premium Launch Edition. Management warned that near-term gross margins may be pressured by production complexities but expects improvement as the R2 ramp scales, with a second shift planned at the Normal plant next quarter. Rivian also raised $1.3 billion in a follow-on equity offering and secured additional investments from Volkswagen Group and Uber to fund growth initiatives.
