Q1 deliveries fell 36% due to soft EV demand and California fires.

Rivian Automotive shares fell 5.6% after the electric vehicle maker reported first-quarter deliveries of 8,640 units, a 36% decline from a year earlier. The figure was in line with management guidance, which had warned of lower deliveries due to California fires and soft EV demand. Production rose to over 14,600 vehicles from 13,980 a year ago as the company retools its factory for the lower-cost R2 SUV due next year. Rivian reiterated its 2025 delivery forecast of 46,000 to 51,000 vehicles and will report full quarterly results on May 6.
