Robinhood Markets IncPrediction-market revenue surged 40%+ QoQ, driven by World Cup contracts, becoming a major earnings driver.

Robinhood's prediction-market revenue likely surged more than 40% in the second quarter relative to the first, according to Fundstrat's Sean Farrell, as event contracts become a major earnings driver. In the first quarter, event contracts generated $104 million in revenue, up from just $3 million a year earlier, and accounted for 10% of Robinhood's total net revenue, nearly rivaling crypto trading which brought in $134 million. Farrell believes the World Cup was a huge catalyst, with Robinhood launching markets on over 100 matches in June and routing some contracts through Rothera, its CFTC-licensed exchange joint venture with Susquehanna International Group. Robinhood's advantage lies in placing prediction markets directly in front of its more than 27 million funded customers within its existing app, advancing its financial super-app vision more effectively than peers like Coinbase.
