US online brokerage Robinhood Markets reported its second quarter 2026 results, with event contract revenue reaching 156 million dollars, exceeding crypto's 100 million dollars and equities' 129 million dollars. Total transaction revenue rose 44 percent year-on-year to 776 million dollars, while the number of event contracts traded expanded more than tenfold to 13.6 billion contracts. Through its joint venture Rothera, the company acquired a 90 percent stake in CFTC-registered exchange MIAXdx for approximately 79 million dollars, and began operating its own exchange in June 2026. Meanwhile, the prediction market faces ongoing federal and state regulatory clashes, as the CFTC published a proposed rule and attorneys general from 44 states pushed back over the treatment of sports-related contracts.
