Strong demand for new six-seat Model Y drives record July sales in Australia.

Tesla delivered 4,778 vehicles in Australia in July, its best result for that month, driven by strong demand for a new six-seat Model Y variant. The Model Y L six-seater accounted for more than half of Tesla's July sales, with total Model Y deliveries reaching 4,644. The result follows an even stronger June when the Model Y was Australia's top-selling vehicle overall and EVs captured nearly a quarter of new-car sales. Battery-electric, plug-in hybrid, and hybrid vehicles together accounted for 49.16% of Australia's new car sales in the second quarter of 2026, leaving internal combustion vehicles with a record-low 50.84% share.
