TMC the metals company IncUS mining permit fast-tracked and NOAA certification, enabling deep-sea nodule harvesting.

TMC The Metals Company is pursuing a US mining permit through its subsidiary The Metals Royalty Company to harvest deep-sea nodules in the Clarion-Clipperton Zone, a move that could bypass international regulatory hurdles. NOAA certified the exploration license application on May 28 and is fast-tracking an environmental review of the 122,000-square-kilometer project area. The US Department of Defense is exploring ways to secure critical minerals, opening potential federal grants and Defense Production Act funding for a planned domestic processing plant in Brownsville, Texas. The company remains pre-revenue, reporting a first-quarter net loss of $20.6 million and cash of $119 million, making the stock a speculative bet.
