Volkswagen AGOperating profit dropped 11.6%, revenue forecast cut, and deliveries fell 6.3%.

Volkswagen Group reported a first-half 2026 operating profit of €5.93 billion, down 11.6% from a year earlier, citing a challenging market environment. Sales revenue slipped 0.2% to €158.10 billion, while the operating return on sales fell to 3.8% from 4.2%. The profit decline was driven mainly by about €0.5 billion in costs tied to ending US production of the ID.4 and unfavourable mix effects, partly offset by lower restructuring expenses, favourable currency movements and lower fixed costs. Customer deliveries fell 6.3% to 4.13 million units, with a 31.6% slump in China outweighing growth in South America, Western Europe and Central and Eastern Europe. The company cut its full-year 2026 revenue forecast to between -3% and 0% from prior guidance of 0% to +3% growth, while maintaining its operating return on sales outlook of 4.0% to 5.5%.
