Lens Technology and Intel Sign Glass Substrate Cooperation Memorandum

Lens Technology's wholly-owned subsidiary Lens International Hong Kong Limited recently signed a cooperation memorandum with Intel. The two parties will jointly evaluate key processes including glass substrate through-hole forming, high-precision laser processing, metallized via deposition, and multi-layer interconnect wiring. This marks another glass substrate collaboration between two industry leaders, following the cooperation announcement between BOE and Corning on May 20. Lens Technology has long-term technical accumulation in TGV precision processing, micro-hole forming, metallized deposition, and multi-layer interconnection, and has established relevant pilot lines and conducted sample trial production. Some customers have passed initial concept verification and entered the technical testing stage. Earlier, news of the BOE and Corning cooperation had stimulated BOE's stock price to hit the daily limit up on May 21, with a cumulative increase of 113.92 percent by July 2. Glass substrates offer advantages such as low dielectric constant, high heat resistance, and high flatness, enabling a tenfold increase in connection density and reduced power consumption. They are mainly used in display and advanced semiconductor packaging fields. Intel announced in January 2026 that its glass substrate technology entered mass production, with its first Xeon 6 Plus Clearwater Forest processor featuring a glass core substrate becoming the industry's first commercially available product. Apple has also begun testing glass substrates for AI server chips. Founder Securities recommends focusing on the industry chain directions such as polishing equipment, TGV drilling equipment, lithography and electroplating equipment, and materials. Aijian Securities believes that the mass production of TGV glass substrates will drive demand for the entire process equipment including laser drilling, metallized coating, electroplating, and exposure.
