LiveRamp Profits Surge as Publicis Buyout Nears Shareholder Vote
LiveRamp reported first-quarter fiscal 2027 results showing a surge in profitability, even as its acquisition by Publicis Groupe moves toward a shareholder vote on August 17. Revenue rose 10% to $214 million, while GAAP operating income more than doubled to $20 million from $7 million a year earlier, and non-GAAP operating income climbed 41% to $50 million. Diluted earnings per share more than doubled to $0.28, and operating cash flow swung to a $17 million inflow from a $16 million outflow. The company also launched LiveRamp Agent Builders and added integrations with OpenAI, Databricks, Adobe, and DoorDash, while ending the quarter with 132 customers paying over $1 million annually, up from 127. Despite the operational gains, the all-cash deal price of $38.50 per share caps shareholder upside if the transaction closes, and LiveRamp has skipped its earnings call and guidance while the deal is pending. Hedge fund ownership rose to 35 funds from 22, while short interest stands at 9.59% of float, reflecting divided market sentiment on deal completion.

The U.S. grew 5.5% organically, Europe grew 5%, and the company delivered a record first-half headline margin of 17.5%. Publicis now expects full-year organic net revenue growth of 4.5% to 5%, up from a previous range of 4% to 5%, and free cash flow of around €2.2 billion, while strong new business wins in the first half should add about 200 basis points of growth on a full-year basis.

Omnicom Drives Growth Through Diversified Portfolio and Strategic Acquisitions Amid Stiff Competition
Omnicom Group drives growth through its diversified offerings across advertising, marketing, and corporate communications, reducing dependence on single revenue streams. The company's strategic investments in technology, data, analytics, and precision marketing, along with its acquisition of Interpublic in November 2025, enhance operational efficiency and support long-term growth. Omnicom paid dividends of $562.7 million, $552.7 million, and $549.6 million, while repurchasing shares worth $570.8 million, $370.7 million, and $707.9 million in 2023, 2024, and 2025, respectively. However, low liquidity with a current ratio of 0.91 at the end of the first quarter of 2026 and stiff competition from companies such as WPP and Publicis Groupe dampen profitability. In the first quarter of 2026, Omnicom reported earnings of $1.90 per share, missing the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $1.91 per share, while total revenues of $6.2 billion topped the consensus estimate of $6 billion and rose 69.2% year over year.
