ASSA ABLOY to acquire UK-based Gunnebo Entrance Control

ASSA ABLOY has agreed to acquire UK-based Gunnebo Entrance Control for undisclosed terms. The Swedish door-opening and access products provider expects the deal to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, pending regulatory approval and customary conditions. Gunnebo Entrance Control, which offers speed gates, mass transit gates, and security revolving doors, generated fiscal 2025 sales of 151 million euros or 1.67 billion kronor with a good EBIT margin. ASSA ABLOY anticipates the acquisition will have a small dilutive effect on its earnings per share. Shares of Assa Abloy were trading 1.76 percent higher at 359.30 kronor on the Stockholm Stock Exchange.

Assa Abloy Acquires Classic Brass

Assa Abloy has acquired Classic Brass Inc, an American manufacturer of premium cabinet and door hardware. The financial details of the acquisition have not been disclosed. Classic Brass, founded in 1996, has around 80 employees and is based in Jamestown, New York. The acquisition will be accretive to earnings per share from the start, and Classic Brass will become part of the Residential Business Segment within the Americas Division.

Assa Abloy Reports Higher Second-Quarter Net Income

Assa Abloy reported higher net income in the second quarter of 2026. Net income attributable to parent company shareholders rose to SEK 4.42 billion from SEK 3.81 billion a year earlier, with earnings per share of SEK 3.98 compared to SEK 3.57. Sales increased to SEK 39.26 billion from SEK 38.02 billion, while operating income jumped to SEK 6.68 billion from SEK 5.96 billion. EBITDA declined to SEK 7.49 billion from SEK 7.63 billion, and EBITA decreased to SEK 6.43 billion from SEK 6.56 billion. The company cited accelerated organic sales growth and strong operating leverage, partly offset by adverse currency effects and acquisition-related dilution.
