Peter Manning New York files Chapter 11 bankruptcy

Peter Manning New York, a specialty men's fashion retail chain, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on August 19 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York, listing about $138,000 in assets and about $3.1 million in debts. The company, which operates stores in New York and Washington, D.C., and plans to open a Boston location in September 2026, is seeking to reorganize under Subchapter V while facing a lawsuit from supplier Lever Style Ltd. over more than $1.14 million in unpaid invoices. Its largest creditors include landlord 933 Broadway LLC, owed over $783,000, and vendor Kam Caine Hong Kong Ltd., owed over $276,000. The retailer, founded in Brooklyn in 2013, sells men's apparel using its own proprietary size system.
