Malaysia Bourse May See Additional Support on Friday

The Malaysia stock market is tipped to open higher on Friday after the Kuala Lumpur Composite Index rose 1.40 points or 0.08 percent to 1,711.39, extending its winning streak to six sessions with a cumulative gain of more than 35 points or 2.2 percent. The positive lead comes from Wall Street, where the NASDAQ surged 496.28 points or 1.91 percent, the S&P 500 jumped 80.48 points or 1.08 percent, and the Dow added 72.15 points or 0.14 percent, buoyed by news that the U.S. and Iran have officially signed a preliminary agreement to end the Middle East war. In the local session, notable movers included 99 Speed Mart Retail surging 5.00 percent, MRDIY soaring 4.35 percent, and Press Metal spiking 3.90 percent, while YTL Corporation tanked 2.86 percent and Nestle Malaysia stumbled 1.71 percent. The global forecast is upbeat as both sides appear to signal an end to the U.S.-Iran conflict, with European and U.S. markets advancing and Asian bourses expected to follow suit.
