Industrial gas major Air Water announced its consolidated results for the fiscal year ending March 2026, reporting a net loss of 63.9 billion yen. This compares with a net profit of 39.9 billion yen in the previous year, marking the company's first-ever fall into the red. The result was hit by the booking of an impairment loss exceeding 100 billion yen related to past investment projects. Additionally, the company revised down its revenue by a total of 297 billion yen and operating profit by a total of 76.3 billion yen over the six-year period from the fiscal year ending March 2020 to March 2025. To prevent recurrence, Air Water will transition to a company with an audit and supervisory committee and work on governance reforms.
