Toyo Engineering Surges Over 20% in One Month, 1Q Operating Profit of 1.9 Billion Yen Exceeds 60% of Full-Year Plan

Toyo Engineering's stock price rebounded, rising over 20% in one month. From a low of 2,018 yen on August 6, 2026, it rose to 2,781 yen by August 28, and on September 3 it was 2,609 yen, up 23.9% from the starting point. The company's first-quarter results for the fiscal year ending March 2027 showed sales of 48.1 billion yen (down 2.5% year-on-year), but operating profit surged to 1.9 billion yen (up 186.5%), ordinary profit was 3.3 billion yen, and net profit was 2.8 billion yen (up 414.8%). The progress rate against the full-year operating profit plan of 3 billion yen reached 63.9%. In the previous fiscal year ending March 2026, the company recorded an operating loss of 19 billion yen due to the deterioration of a gas-fired power generation project for Brazil, but arbitration proceedings for that project are ongoing, leaving room for profit fluctuations. The stock price is high at a PBR of 3.28 times, and the equity ratio is thin at 16.7%, which has an impact.
