The company was incorporated in 1972 and is headquartered in Tokyo, Japan.

Mos Food Reports 1Q Profit Decline Despite Strong Existing Store Sales; Attention on End-September Shareholder Benefits

Mos Food Services reported its first-quarter results for the fiscal year ending March 2027 on August 7, with net sales of 24.636 billion yen (up 3.6% year-on-year) and operating profit of 811 million yen (down 52.9%), marking a return to profit decline. The main domestic Mos Burger business segment profit was 1.544 billion yen (down 26.4%), impacted by rising raw material costs, but existing store sales, customer traffic, and average spend per customer all exceeded the previous year. In August, existing store sales also remained firm, up 3.9% year-on-year. In the previous fiscal year (ending March 2026), the company saw increases in both sales and profit, with net sales of 102.773 billion yen (up 6.8%) and operating profit of 6.561 billion yen (up 25.6%). The domestic Mos Burger business is the main profit driver, accounting for 81.7% of net sales. Shareholder benefits with a record date of September 30 include annual benefits ranging from 2,000 yen for holdings of 100 shares or more (for less than three years) up to 22,000 yen for holdings of 1,000 shares or more (for three years or more), depending on the number of shares held.

Mos Food Services to raise prices on about 80% of menu items by 10 to 60 yen

Mos Food Services announced on the 6th that it will raise prices on about 80% of all items, including hamburgers, side menus, and drinks, by 10 to 60 yen. The increases, driven by rising raw material costs, labor costs, and utility expenses at stores, will take effect from the 15th. The signature Mos Burger will go from 470 yen to 500 yen, a medium French fry from 330 yen to 340 yen, and a medium carbonated drink from 270 yen to 290 yen. Prices for large sizes and some items such as soups will remain unchanged. This marks the company's first price hike in one year and four months, since March 2025.
