Alvis is showing signs of hitting the limit-high buying orders. Life Corporation announced it will acquire the company, with a TOB price of 3,780 yen, a 51% premium over the previous day's closing price. The plan is to take the company private, with the TOB period running from September 9 to November 10. Alvis has expressed its support and recommends shareholders to tender their shares. This is Life Corp's first acquisition of a peer company, and it aims to pursue economies of scale.

Life Corporation, which operates the "Life" supermarkets in the Tokyo metropolitan area and Kansai, announced on the 8th that it will conduct a tender offer (TOB) for Alvis, a food supermarket based in the Hokuriku region, aiming to make it a consolidated subsidiary. The tender offer is at 3,780 yen per share, running from the 9th to November 10th, with an estimated acquisition amount of about 26 billion yen. Alvis has agreed to the tender offer and recommended that its shareholders also tender their shares. If the tender offer is successful, Alvis will be delisted, with existing shareholder Mitsubishi Corporation holding just over 16% of the shares and Life Corp holding the remainder. Alvis was established in 1968 and operates about 70 stores in the Hokuriku and Chukyo regions, mainly in Toyama Prefecture, with consolidated sales of 100.9 billion yen for the fiscal year ending March 2026.
