AOKI Holdings: Fashion Business Falls into Red, Entertainment Business Becomes Top Earner
AOKI Holdings reported its first-quarter results for the fiscal year ending March 2027, showing that its core fashion business fell into an operating loss, while its entertainment business, which operates karaoke and complex cafes, alone exceeded the consolidated operating profit and became the top earner. In the first quarter, consolidated net sales were 43.045 billion yen (down 1.6% year on year), and operating profit was 1.18 billion yen (down 49.9% year on year), a significant decline. The entertainment business recorded net sales of 18.596 billion yen (up 2.0% year on year) and operating profit of 1.608 billion yen (up 3.9% year on year), surpassing the consolidated operating profit. Meanwhile, the fashion business saw net sales of 21.333 billion yen (down 4.2% year on year), and its operating result swung from a profit of 753 million yen in the same period last year to a loss of 202 million yen. The full-year forecast remains unchanged, with net sales of 200 billion yen and operating profit of 18 billion yen, but the first-quarter progress rate slowed to 6.6% from 13.9% in the previous year. The next record date for shareholder benefits is September 30, with the last day for entitlement being September 28.
