Axogen has agreed to acquire BioCircuit Technologies for $200m in an all-cash deal the Florida-based medtech company expects to close in Q4 2026. The takeover adds BioCircuit's NerveTape to Axogen's surgical peripheral nerve repair portfolio, which currently includes the Avance nerve graft system and the Axoguard range of nerve connectors and protectors. NerveTape became the first sutureless peripheral nerve repair technology to secure US Food and Drug Administration clearance in July 2022, using miniature hooks to align and hold together the ends of a severed nerve. Axogen president and CEO Michael Dale said NerveTape's approach makes high-quality nerve repair simpler and more accessible for surgeons, while CFO Lindsey Hartley called it an attractive growth asset expected to add to the company's revenue growth. Axogen also gains BioCircuit's technology platform and is eyeing product development opportunities and expansion into new indications, with its direct sales force and hospital and surgeon relationships expected to speed NerveTape's market uptake.
