iBio, Inc. is a preclinical-stage biotechnology company developing AI-driven antibody solutions for cardiometabolic and obesity-related conditions. Its technology platforms include EngageTx, which provides optimized CD3 antibodies for bispecific T-cell engagers; StableHu, an AI antibody-optimization technology; and AI epitope steering technology. The company's pipeline includes IBIO-601, IBIO-800, IBIO-600, an amylin antibody, CCR8, and MUC16 antibodies, as well as antibody therapeutics for glioblastoma and a TROP-2 x CD3 bispecific antibody. It has a collaboration agreement with AstralBio to discover and develop novel antibodies for obesity and other cardiometabolic diseases. Formerly known as iBioPharma, Inc., it changed its name to iBio, Inc. in August 2009, was incorporated in 2008, and is headquartered in San Diego, California.

iBio Appoints Endocrinologist Molly Carr as Chief Medical Officer

iBio has appointed endocrinologist Molly Carr as Chief Medical Officer to lead its global clinical strategy, medical affairs, and regulatory initiatives as the company advances its cardiometabolic pipeline toward late-stage development. Dr. Carr brings over 30 years of clinical, academic, and biopharmaceutical experience, most recently serving as Clinical Head and Associate Vice President of Eli Lilly's Insulin and Glucagon Franchise, where she oversaw the Phase 3 program for efsitora, a once-weekly insulin. Her appointment is a critical step as iBio advances its obesity and cardiometabolic pipeline into the clinic, with programs including IBIO-600 and IBIO-610. As an inducement to her employment, iBio granted Dr. Carr options to purchase 430,000 shares of common stock at an exercise price of $1.40 per share, vesting over four years with accelerated vesting upon a change in control or certain involuntary terminations.

iBio's IBIO-610 achieves near-complete Activin E inhibition in obese primate study

iBio announced that a single dose of its antibody candidate IBIO-610 reduced active Activin E levels by up to 98% in obese non-human primates, with suppression lasting through eight weeks. The therapy also promoted fat-selective weight loss, and when combined with Semaglutide, it drove greater visceral and total fat reduction while cutting lean mass loss by 73% compared with Semaglutide alone. CEO and CSO Martin Brenner said the findings represent the highest degree of Activin E inhibition reported to date in this class, achieved with a single dose, and highlighted the potential for low-frequency dosing. The full dataset will be presented at the European Association for the Study of Diabetes Annual Meeting in Milan from September 28 to October 2, 2026.
