Metir plc researches, develops, and commercializes miniaturized mass spectrometry instruments in the United Kingdom, the United States, the European Union, China, and Qatar. Its products include compact mass spectrometers under the Microsaic 4500 MiD brand, Modern Water MicroTox CTM, FX, and LX toxicity monitors, consumables and spare parts, product support services such as training sales and service teams, and assurance warranties. The company also offers science and engineering consultancy, laboratory and monitoring services, reagents under the Microtox brand, and sulphate reducing bacteria kits under the QuickChek brand. It is involved in large-scale potable water monitoring projects, including installation of the online live data Continuous Toxicity Monitoring system in Qatar, and sells through OEMs and distribution channels. Formerly known as Microsaic Systems plc, it changed its name to Metir plc in February 2025, was incorporated in 1998, and is based in York, the United Kingdom.

Pantheon International shares rise 37.5% as strategic overhaul narrows discount

Pantheon International PLC reported a 37.5% share price gain and a sharply narrowed discount to net asset value for the year to end May, after selling assets, cutting its manager list, and returning cash to shareholders. Metir PLC signed a deal to supply its rapid water toxicity testing technology to several major British water companies and is close to restarting production of its bacteria-detection kits following a supply fix. Seraphim Space Investment Trust PLC made its first investments from the £137 million raised in May, backing existing holdings Pixxel in Earth observation and Zeno Power in nuclear-powered batteries. Bradda Head Lithium Ltd struck an agreement allowing a solar developer to build on part of its Pennsylvania lease while retaining lithium rights below ground, a setup that could power a future lithium extraction pilot plant.
