SiriusPoint Names Rachel Winoski Chief Human Resources Officer

SiriusPoint Ltd. announced the appointment of Rachel Winoski as Chief Human Resources Officer, effective October 5, 2026. Winoski will be based in New York and will join the Executive Leadership Team, reporting to Chief Executive Officer Scott Egan. She joins SiriusPoint from AXA XL, where she served as Chief HR Officer for the Americas, and brings more than 15 years of HR leadership experience within the insurance industry. She succeeds Sarah Smith, who has served as Interim Chief Human Resources Officer since April 2026 and will continue as HR Director, partnering with the company's UK and European operations. SiriusPoint targets 12% to 15% across-the-cycle ROE while keeping full-year OUE ratio around 7%

SiriusPoint reported second-quarter 2026 results with a combined ratio of 91.4% and underwriting income of $55 million, while management reiterated its across-the-cycle return on equity target of 12% to 15% and said it remains on track for a full-year other underwriting expense ratio of approximately 7%. Core gross written premium increased 6% to $982 million, with Insurance and Services gross written premium growing 15% and reinsurance premium declining 9% as the company pulls back from aviation, property catastrophe, and certain casualty segments. Operating net income was $79 million, or $0.67 per diluted share, and diluted book value per share excluding accumulated other comprehensive income rose $0.50 to $19.48. The company repurchased $95 million of common shares year-to-date, bringing total capital return to shareholders in 2026 to $295 million including a preference share redemption, with $79 million remaining under its authorization. Management noted that a shift toward longer-duration lines reduced earned premium recognized in the quarter by approximately 10%, or $31 million, describing it as a timing impact that will extend throughout 2026 and benefit early 2027.
