PTT Exploration and Production Public Company LimitedCrude oil prices surge past $90 due to US-Iran conflict and Strait of Hormuz closure, raising PTTEP's average selling prices.
Brent crude oil prices have continued to climb, breaking through 90 US dollars per barrel for the first time since 11 June 2026, amid escalating conflict between the United States and Iran. The US has struck Iran for a ninth consecutive night, including an attack on the Darkhovin nuclear power plant under construction, while Iran has declared it will no longer comply with the peace agreement and has retaliated by attacking US bases in Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan. Dao Securities holds a positive view on the short-term oil price outlook due to heightened conflict and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, maintaining an overweight rating for the petrochemical sector and a market weight rating for the energy sector. The firm favors PTTEP with a target price of 180 baht, driven by higher average selling prices for oil, and PTTGC with a target price of 44 baht, supported by expected supply reductions.
