Nissui Corporation

Nissui Corporation operates marine, food products, fine chemicals, distribution, and marine-related engineering businesses in Japan and internationally. It provides seafood such as salmon, Alaska pollock, yellowtail, shrimp, tuna, and crab, along with fish feed, oil, and meal products. The company also produces frozen foods for household and food service use, shelf-stable foods, fillet fish, fish sausage and surimi-based products, and chilled foods. In addition, it supplies fine chemicals including eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) for pharmaceuticals and ingredients for functional foods, health products, and supplements. Formerly known as Nippon Suisan Kaisha, Ltd., it changed its name to Nissui Corporation in December 2022. Founded in 1911, the company is headquartered in Tokyo, Japan.

Nissui's Sales Composition: Food Business Surpasses Marine Products

In Nissui's segment sales for the fiscal year ending March 2026, the food business generated 501.0 billion yen (53.8% of total), surpassing the marine products business's 380.2 billion yen (40.8%). Non-marine segments accounted for more than half of consolidated sales of 931.3 billion yen. In operating profit, the food business also outperformed, with 29.6 billion yen versus 17.8 billion yen for marine products. The logistics business boasted the highest profit margin within the group, achieving 2.4 billion yen in operating profit on sales of 16.6 billion yen, a margin of 14.5%. In the current period, the marine products business saw operating profit more than double year-on-year to 17.8 billion yen, driven by strong catches of yellowtail, horse mackerel, and mackerel, as well as a higher production ratio of farmed tuna. At the consolidated level, sales and profits at all levels reached record highs. The stock price has declined over the past month, closing at 1,230 yen on September 4, with a P/E ratio of 12.86 and a P/B ratio of 1.22.
