KAP Minerals highlights Hanwa partnership as G7 leaders advance allied critical minerals supply chains

KAP Minerals Inc. highlighted its strategic partnership with Japan's Hanwa Co., Ltd. as G7 leaders gathered in Évian-les-Bains, France, where critical minerals security and allied industrial cooperation were central themes. The partnership, announced in May, establishes a framework for long-term commercial cooperation and offtake for phosphate, rare earth elements, scandium, and other critical minerals from KAP's Kapuskasing project in Northern Ontario. The companies are also exploring value-added processing capacity in Ontario, aligning with the objectives of the Critical Minerals Resilience and Production Alliance launched at the 2025 G7 Summit. Canada's Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Tim Hodgson, stated that projects like KAP's are securing materials essential to manufacturing, defence, and the clean energy transition. KAP CEO Geoff Hampson said the partnership demonstrates how allied nations can convert shared policy objectives into real industrial capacity.
