TAN reports first-half profit up 27%, pushes ahead with three strategies to match consumer behaviour

Thanachira Retail Corporation Public Company Limited, or TAN, reported first-half results for 2026, with profit growing 27% from the same period last year amid economic challenges and weak purchasing power. The company was able to drive sales and profit growth by adjusting its operating plans to align with consumer behaviour through management of its TANACHIRA CLUB member base, development of marketing campaigns tailored to each customer segment, and upgrading the capabilities of its sales team. After implementing its Recovery Plan during the second quarter, the company began to see clear results, with sales in several business groups improving and building momentum through the end of the quarter. International operations generated total revenue of 137.8 million baht, up 34.0% from a year earlier, and their share of total revenue rose to 14%, supported mainly by China, which grew 74.6%, Singapore at 24.7%, and Vietnam at 2.1%. Domestic operations posted sales and service revenue of 831.6 million baht, up 5.0% from the same period last year, with revenue split across lifestyle at 47%, fashion at 27%, beauty and wellness at 20%, and food and beverage at 6%. Domestic online business grew 36.8% from four core brands, and including international online revenue, online sales grew 54.4%, lifting total online business as a share of total revenue to 16% from 11%. Sales from TANACHIRA CLUB members in the second quarter of 2026 accounted for 42.1% of total sales, while the number of members purchasing across brands rose 96% and sales from this group increased 107% compared with the previous quarter. For the second half of 2026, the company aims to drive growth under its Sustainable Growth strategy through three main pillars: accelerating international growth, especially HARNN in China, building on TANACHIRA CLUB with customer data, and raising brand awareness through brand ambassadors such as PANDORA with Keng Nampung, Marimekko with Toey Jarinporn, and Cath Kidston with the Hello Kitty collection.
