SEALSQ launches commercial phase of Miraex quantum photonics technology
SEALSQ Corp has started the commercial phase of quantum photonics technology from Miraex SA, following its full acquisition of the Swiss company in June 2026. The acquisition, completed on June 2, 2026, was financed through SEALSQ’s $200 million Quantum Fund, which has already deployed more than $65 million into strategic quantum technology investments. Miraex’s proprietary Thin Film Lithium Tantalate Photonic Integrated Circuit platform converts quantum information between microwave and optical frequencies, addressing a key scaling challenge in quantum computing and networking. The commercial rollout targets distributed quantum computing, quantum networking, quantum sensing, and the Quantum Orbital Space Cloud. SEALSQ says the integration strengthens its Quantum Sovereign Vertical Stack, combining secure semiconductors, post-quantum cryptography, and quantum communications into a single sovereign platform.

Multibeam secures first Taiwan order for its second-generation multi-column e-beam lithography platform

QuantumDiamonds secures €76 million EU-backed funding and €15 million equity round
German startup QuantumDiamonds has received €76 million in non-dilutive funding from Germany's federal economy ministry and the state of Bavaria, with approval from the European Commission, as part of a previously announced $178 million investment plan to build a semiconductor testing equipment facility in Munich. The company also raised a €15 million equity round led by World Fund, with participation from Bayern Kapital and existing investors including Creator Fund, Earlybird, First Momentum, IQ Capital, Onsight Ventures and UnternehmerTUM. QuantumDiamonds uses quantum sensing with synthetic diamonds to detect defects in chips through all layers without destruction, compressing a weeks-long process into a two-minute inspection. CEO Kevin Berghoff said the startup works with nearly everyone in the chip ecosystem and has completed its first commercial deployments in Taiwan and the U.S. The new funding will help double its engineering team in Munich over the next 12 months.
