PTT Exploration and Production Public Company LimitedDubai crude price up 2.78% due to Middle East uncertainty, boosting oil producers.
Asia Plus Securities reported that the average Dubai crude oil price increased by 2.78% week-on-week to $89.37 per barrel, while Nymex and Brent averages decreased by 1.36% and 3.90% respectively, to $81.47 and $88.14 per barrel. The Dubai crude price was supported by ongoing uncertainty in the Middle East following the U.S. attack on Iran's missile bases, and Iran has not yet opened the Strait of Hormuz. Meanwhile, U.S. crude oil inventories rose by only 95,000 barrels, lower than the expected 1.6 million barrels. However, the Singapore refining margin reference average decreased by 33.24% to $14.58 per barrel, as investors eased concerns over progress in negotiations to reopen shipping routes. Meanwhile, the average JKM LNG price in the Asian market increased by 6.21% to $23.53 per million BTU, driven by demand for gas reserves to support higher electricity consumption in summer. The research department recommends trading PTTEP (FV@170B) based on changes in oil prices, and recommends trading TOP (FV@68B) based on fund flows into the energy and petrochemical sectors, as well as PTTGC (FV@42B) and IVL (FV@26B) in the petrochemical group, which are expected to have passed their lowest point.
