AST SpaceMobile Hit With Securities Class Action Over Capital Claims and Insider Sales
A securities class action has been filed against AST SpaceMobile and several executives, alleging misleading statements about its capital strength, competitive position in satellite direct-to-cell services, and insider stock sales between March 4, 2025 and July 15, 2026. The lawsuit challenges earlier claims that AST SpaceMobile could fund its satellite constellation rollout without frequent dilution or heavier debt, directly testing one of the company's core investment pillars. The case lands against a backdrop of large convertible note offerings in late 2025 and 2026, with investors already digesting over US$3.0 billion in planned debt financings as AST SpaceMobile pushes toward its target of roughly 45 satellites in orbit by early 2027. The company's narrative projects $2.2 billion revenue and $190.9 million earnings by 2029, requiring 165.5% yearly revenue growth and an earnings increase of about $810 million from -$618.8 million today. Before the lawsuit, the most optimistic analysts assumed AST SpaceMobile could reach about US$2.6 billion of revenue and US$1.3 billion of earnings by 2029.

AIS will open first-day sales of the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max on 18 September 2026, alongside the launch of its Turn Sabai campaign, which lets customers pay 0 baht by combining the value of their old device without any condition-based appraisal, added value from AIS, package discounts, and other benefits into a single package of savings. For AIS monthly customers with at least one year of usage who open a new number or port in with a 5G VIP Ultra package priced at 1,699 to 2,999 baht per month on a 24-month contract, they will receive Serenade Gold or Platinum status and a free choice of an auspicious number from 0000 to 9999, plus AIS PLAY Premium Plus and Reel Short free for 24 months. Under other promotions, customers can receive a discount of up to 25,000 baht on the handset when buying a device with a new package starting at 699 baht, or up to 17,300 baht when buying a handset outright without a contract. Trading in a specified older model adds a further discount of up to 5,300 baht, and AIS Serenade customers can use AIS Points to redeem an additional discount of up to 12,000 baht, while general customers can redeem up to 5,000 baht. AIS stated that it is the first and only operator in Southeast Asia to activate carrier aggregation of more than one 5G SA band simultaneously on both the downlink and uplink, through Downlink 3CC and Uplink 2CC, with support for VoNR. In addition, customers with a CLICX account can receive a walk-in queue voucher to buy the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and iPhone 17 Pro Max, covering 2,000 units, from 17 to 24 September 2026.
AIS to begin iPhone 18 Pro deliveries on September 18, 2026, with a trade-in promotion offering zero-baht payments
AIS will begin delivering the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max to customers on September 18, 2026, through AIS SIAM, AIS Shop and dealers nationwide. Prapat Siangchan, head of the retail business executive committee at Advanced Info Service Public Company Limited, or ADVANC, said the company is pressing ahead with its strategy of linking Device, Network and Service under three main pillars: Value, Infrastructure/Network and Personalized Convenience. On Value, the company launched the "Trade-in Easy, Pay 0 Baht" campaign, which combines the value of the old device with package benefits, discounts and additional discounts from AIS to reduce the burden of the new handset under specified conditions. For monthly subscribers who have been active for one year or more, as well as customers opening a new number or porting in, they can sign up for the 5G VIP Ultra package priced at 1,699 to 2,999 baht per month with a 24-month service contract to receive Network Priority privileges and Serenade Gold or Platinum benefits. Meanwhile, a handset discount promotion of up to 25,000 baht applies when buying together with a new package, along with discounts for standalone handsets, trade-ins of old devices and the use of AIS Points, with conditions varying by customer type and promotional item. On the network side, the new iPhone models support a 5G-Advanced network that aggregates more than one wave on a 5G SA system simultaneously for both data reception and transmission, through Downlink 3CC and Uplink 2CC, and also support VoNR. On the service side, the AIS Pro team handles everything from evaluating the old device and preparing the new one to data migration and setup, while bringing in AI Assistance to help staff recommend offers that match each customer's needs. AIS believes its iPhone customer base shows strong brand loyalty and upgrades devices continuously, so it aims to use a trade-in strategy alongside 5G packages and after-sales service to spur device upgrades among existing customers.
Supreme Administrative Court dismisses DPC in 1.2-billion-baht case; ADVANC still faces two more
The Supreme Administrative Court ruled on 17 September 2026 to dismiss the case against Digital Phone Company Limited, or DPC, a subsidiary of ADVANC, in case number 1651/2558, valued at 1.2 billion baht. It is one of three cases filed since 2015 by National Telecom Public Company Limited, or NT, against both the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission, or NBTC, and DPC. The three cases have a combined value of 3.2 billion baht and concern claims for compensation for the use of telecommunications equipment and networks during the 1800MHz spectrum remedy period between 16 September 2014 and 25 November 2015, after NT's concession ended. As a result of the ruling, DPC does not have to pay the 1,223 million baht demanded by NT, and the case is now final. However, two related cases remain, case numbers 918/2558 and 741/2559, with a combined value of 1.98 billion baht, which are still under consideration by the Supreme Administrative Court. In a worst-case scenario, losing both cases would affect earnings per share by only 0.67 baht per share. Asia Plus Securities maintains a Buy recommendation on ADVANC shares with a 2027 target price of 428 baht, expecting normal profit to grow by an average of 11% per year during 2026 to 2027, and anticipates dividend payouts at attractive rates of around 0% to 5.1% for 2026 to 2027 respectively. ADVANC shares have risen 12% since the start of the year, while TRUE has risen 17% since the start of the year.
The Supreme Administrative Court has ruled to dismiss a case brought against Digital Phone Company Limited, or DPC, a subsidiary of Advanced Info Service Public Company Limited, or ADVANC, in case number 1651/2558, in which National Telecom Public Company Limited, or NT, sought compensation for the use of telecommunications equipment and networks. As a result, DPC will not have to pay 1.223 billion baht. The ruling is final. This case is one of three that NT filed against the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission and DPC in the Central Administrative Court starting in 2015, seeking compensation for the temporary consumer protection period after the expiry of the 1800 MHz spectrum concession, covering 16 September 2014 to 25 November 2015. The total amount claimed from DPC across all three cases was more than 3.202 billion baht, plus interest of 7.5 percent per year. In 2022, the Central Administrative Court dismissed all three cases against DPC, and NT appealed to the Supreme Administrative Court. The remaining two cases, case numbers 918/2558 and 741/2559, with a combined disputed amount of approximately 1.979 billion baht, are still under consideration by the Supreme Administrative Court.

As a result, DPC is not required to pay 1.223 billion baht, and the case is now final. Meanwhile, two other cases, case numbers 918/2558 and 741/2559, which are the remaining parts of the same group of cases with a combined value of 1.979 billion baht, are still under consideration by the Supreme Administrative Court. ADVANC will report further significant developments.
ADVANC Gets Good News as Supreme Administrative Court Dismisses Case, Freeing DPC from 1.223 Billion Baht Payment
The Supreme Administrative Court has ruled to dismiss the case against Digital Phone Company Limited, or DPC, a subsidiary of Advanced Info Service Public Company Limited, or ADVANC, in a dispute with National Telecom Public Company Limited, or NT, over charges for telecommunications equipment and network usage during the temporary protection period after the concession ended. As a result, DPC will not have to pay 1.223 billion baht. This case, docket number 1651/2558, is now final. DPC's disputes total three cases with a combined value of 3.202 billion baht plus interest at 7.5% per year. The other two cases, docket numbers 918/2558 and 741/2559, with a combined value of 1.979 billion baht, remain under consideration by the Supreme Administrative Court. Reaves Fund Flags T-Mobile Sell-Off on Renewed Wireless Competition
Reaves Long Term Value Wrap Strategy reported a 10.55% gain in the second quarter of 2026, outperforming the MSCI USA Infrastructure Index, which fell 6.31%, while cash distributions rose 6.7% from the second quarter of 2025. In its quarterly investor letter, the strategy singled out T-Mobile US as a detractor, citing renewed concerns about competitive intensity in US wireless. The letter said new pricing plans at Verizon and AT&T narrowed T-Mobile's premium gap at retail, while satellite headline risk reached feverish levels around the much-anticipated SpaceX IPO, and it added that it believes Starlink lacks the assets to be disruptive to wireless in the near term but acknowledged the overhang may persist. Rumors that parent company Deutsche Telekom may be interested in consolidating the T-Mobile minority shareholders also pressured the stock, according to the letter. T-Mobile closed at $176.26 per share on September 16, 2026, down 4.90% over the past month and 27.84% over the past year, with a market capitalization of $184.95 billion and a 52-week range of $165.66 to $242.37. The letter also noted that 85 hedge fund portfolios held T-Mobile at the end of the second quarter, unchanged from the previous quarter.
Supreme Administrative Court dismisses DPC case over NT's 1.223 billion baht claim, ruling is final
The Supreme Administrative Court has ruled to dismiss the case brought against Digital Phone Company Limited, or DPC, a subsidiary of Advanced Info Service Public Company Limited, or ADVANC, in case number 1651/2558, meaning DPC will not have to pay 1.223 billion baht to National Telecom Public Company Limited, or NT. The case is now final under the Supreme Administrative Court's ruling. This was one of three cases NT filed against the NBTC and DPC with the Central Administrative Court in 2015, seeking payment for telecommunications equipment and network usage during the temporary protection period under an NBTC announcement after the expiry of the 1800MHz spectrum concession, covering the period from 16 September 2014 to 25 November 2015. The claims against DPC totalled 3.202 billion baht plus interest of 7.5 percent per year. In 2022, the Central Administrative Court dismissed all three cases against DPC, prompting NT to appeal to the Supreme Administrative Court. The two remaining cases, case numbers 918/2558 and 741/2559, with combined claims of 1.979 billion baht, are currently still under consideration by the Supreme Administrative Court. ADVANC will inform investors of any significant developments.
Wireless Bill Spike Helped Push Fed to First Rate Hike in Three Years
A steep 5.9% jump in Americans' wireless bills from July to August, the largest single-month increase since the Bureau of Labor Statistics began tracking the category nearly two decades ago, helped persuade the Federal Reserve to raise interest rates for the first time in three years. The surge followed T-Mobile's late-July decision to retire over 1,000 older plans, shifting customers to newer offerings at an added cost of as much as $6 per line per month, and AT&T's Aug. 5 rate hikes of $10 to $20 on some older plans plus a $1 increase in a monthly per-line fee. Wall Street analysts estimate the category contributed about 10 basis points of August's 0.3% month-over-month rise in core consumer prices, cementing expectations for the Fed's 25 basis-point hike on Wednesday. Carrier spending on new sites and expanded network capacity topped $30 billion last year, according to the industry trade group CTIA, while taxes, fees, and government surcharges reached a record 27.6% of the average wireless bill, per the Tax Foundation. Bank of America strategists called the August CPI jump in phone service a one-off tied to AT&T's changes, though cheaper options from mobile virtual network operators like Spectrum Mobile and Boost Mobile remain available for consumers willing to shop around.
AIS PLAY Holds Live Broadcast Rights for 2026 Nagoya Asian Games Across 18 Channels
AIS PLAY has announced its readiness to broadcast the 20th Asian Games, Aichi-Nagoya 2026, from Japan, as the sole holder of live broadcast rights on OTT and online platforms in Thailand, from September 19 to October 4, 2026, offering a full 18 channels of live signal. These comprise three Thai-commentary channels, Asian Games 901–903, covering competitions involving Thai national athletes and sports of interest to Thai viewers such as football, volleyball, athletics, and badminton; 14 more channels, Asian Games 904–917, receiving the live signal sent from Nagoya; and one special channel, Asian Games 918, for esports competitions. Ms. Rungthip Jarusiripipat, Head of Entertainment Business at AIS, said that AIS PLAY intends to serve as a channel connecting Thais so they can be part of this major event more than ever. The opening ceremony will be held on September 19, 2026, at Paloma Mizuho Stadium under the theme Harmonic Heart Beat, with Yukihiko Tsutsumi as creative director, and will be broadcast live on AIS PLAY from 4:00 p.m. onwards. At the same time, AIS is also turning AIS SIAM into a rallying point for cheering the Thai team, with LED screens both outside and inside the building showing key matches. EchoStar's Hughes JUPITER Gateway Selected by NIGCOMSAT for Nigerian Satellites
Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited, known as NIGCOMSAT, has selected EchoStar's Hughes JUPITER scalable gateway system to support its NIGCOMSAT-2A and 2B satellites. Ground network preparation and deployment are scheduled to begin in 2026, ahead of planned satellite launches in 2028 and 2029. The long-term contract underscores EchoStar's expanding role in providing secure, high-capacity satellite connectivity across Africa and reinforces its position in next-generation, infrastructure-level communications projects. The win adds evidence of international demand for EchoStar's infrastructure, though the company's near-term picture remains focused on execution on new networks against a stressed balance sheet and large upcoming maturities. EchoStar's enlarged US$5,000 million buyback authorization stands out as its most relevant recent announcement, sitting alongside high leverage and negative free cash flow. EchoStar's narrative projects $13.2 billion in revenue and $775.8 million in earnings by 2029, assuming revenue declines of 3.4% per year and an earnings increase of about $6.5 billion from -$5.7 billion today, with a $128.43 fair value estimate implying 39% upside.
ADVANC and TRUE Slide as Broker Cuts Target and Rating on Slowing Revenue in 2027-2028
ADVANC shares closed at 341 baht, down 3.40%, or 12.00 baht, with trading value of 3.94516 billion baht, while TRUE shares closed at 12.50 baht, down 3.10%, or 0.40 baht, with trading value of 2.53338 billion baht. InnovestX said ADVANC's more than 3% decline today was driven more by overall market sentiment than by the 3BB hacking issue, and the company clarified that one of 3BB's corporate customers had its system hacked and that hackers tried to penetrate ADVANC's systems to steal customer data, but ADVANC was able to block the attempt in time and no data from other customers leaked. It maintained a NEUTRAL rating with a target price of 415 baht, as it expects earnings to begin slowing in the second half of 2026. CGS International downgraded its rating on Thailand's telecommunications sector from Overweight to Underweight because it expects service revenue to slow in 2027-2028, cutting its earnings-per-share forecasts for ADVANC in 2027-2028 by 4.1-8.7% and lowering its rating from Hold to Reduce with a target price cut to 323 baht per share. For TRUE, it cut its earnings-per-share forecasts for 2026-2027 by 3.6-8.6% and lowered its target price using the DCF method to 16.30 baht per share, but kept an Add rating as it sees room for attractive returns from the current price level.
Intel, SK Hynix Rise on Reported US Memory Chip Talks; Vodafone Falls
Intel shares rose 5% and SK Hynix gained 3% following a report that South Korea's SK Hynix is in talks with Intel about potentially manufacturing memory chips in the U.S. for the first time. One scenario would involve SK Hynix leasing part of Intel's planned Ohio chipmaking facility, while another could involve a joint venture with Intel and major cloud companies seeking to secure memory supplies. The discussions remain exploratory, with no decisions made, and potential opposition from Seoul could pose a hurdle, particularly if advanced memory technologies such as HBM or DRAM are involved; SK Hynix said it is reviewing measures, including additional production bases, but that no matters have been determined at this stage. FTAI Aviation gained 2% after authorizing a new $500M share repurchase program, funded with cash on its balance sheet and running through September 30, 2029 unless completed earlier. Vodafone fell 2% after reports indicated the British telecom giant could face up to €1.1B ($1.27B) in potential earnings losses from the sale of Patrick Drahi's 50% stake in the German broadband joint venture OXG Glasfaser, with Société Générale agreeing earlier this month to acquire Drahi's stake but not assume his deferred payment commitments.
Berenberg Analyst Names Rocket Lab and AST SpaceMobile as Top Space Picks
Berenberg analyst Michael Filatov issued Buy ratings on Rocket Lab USA and AST SpaceMobile, arguing that falling launch costs have pushed the space economy past $500bn in 2025 and put it on track to exceed $1trn by 2030. Filatov set an $83 price target on Rocket Lab, implying 33% upside, citing the company's vertically integrated launch, manufacturing and applications model, a record $2.36 billion backlog at the end of 2Q26 that was up 137% year-over-year, and 2Q26 revenue of $234 million, up 62% year-over-year and more than $3 million above forecast, alongside a GAAP loss of $0.08 per share. Rocket Lab's Electron rocket has made 95 launches to date, including 16 in 2026, and the company has pushed the first launch of its larger Neutron rocket to early next year, with delivery to the launch pad during 4Q26. For AST SpaceMobile, Filatov set a $92 target, implying 53% upside, pointing to its BlueBird satellite constellation, more than 60 mobile network operator partnerships covering roughly 3 billion subscribers, and a $1.3 billion revenue backlog, though the company's 2Q26 GAAP loss of $0.77 per share missed estimates by $0.48. Rocket Lab carries a Strong Buy consensus with a $110.13 average target, while AST SpaceMobile holds a Moderate Buy consensus with an $88.98 average target.

Asia Plus flags low-volatility ICT stocks, picks ADVANC as top choice
Asia Plus Securities says ICT stocks are an attractive group in a volatile market, with an average beta of 0.88 year-to-date, below the market, and expects normalised profit in 2026-2027 to grow an average of 16%, while forecasting an average dividend yield of 4.94%-5.31%, higher than the market average of 3.79%-3.92%. The research team maintains an overweight stance on the ICT group, selecting three stocks that meet both the low-beta and high-dividend criteria: 3BBIF, ADVANC and TRUE, which are expected to post better operating results in the second half of 2026 both half-on-half and year-on-year, with continued growth into 2027. The research team picks ADVANC as its top pick because of its strong business, solid earnings base and cash flow, and consistent dividend payments, expecting a dividend yield of 4.9%-5.1% in 2026-2027, while the share price remains a laggard, up only 13% year-to-date compared with rival TRUE's 19% gain.
ADVANC hosts AIS ACADEMY For THAIs 2026 to elevate Thai education with AI
Advanced Info Service Public Company Limited, or ADVANC, kicked off its AI seminar festival under the name AIS ACADEMY For THAIs 2026, built around the concept MASTERING AI BEYOND BORDERS, at Samyan Mitrtown Hall. Kanthima Lertlertyutitham, Deputy Chief Executive Officer for Enterprise Business, said the event brings together the combined strength of the public sector, the business sector, the education sector, and global technology partners to prepare people, organizations, cities, and the country's ecosystem. This year's event gathered more than 30 leading speakers who shared perspectives across three key dimensions: elevating organizations, developing people's skills, and building collaboration to drive the country forward. This year focuses on education, following last year's focus on the elderly, and also spreads opportunities to the regions through the Academy for Thai project to reduce inequality so that children in remote areas can access knowledge, all under a philosophy of non-profit and lifelong learning. The company believes Thailand is moving from AI Access to AI Capability, and that technology is advancing from Generative AI to AGI, so it must accelerate the creation of people who are ready to learn, adapt, and use AI responsibly, because the readiness of people is the starting point of the country's readiness.
T-Mobile CEO Maps 5G, Broadband and AI Growth Strategy at Goldman Sachs Conference
T-Mobile US CEO and President Srini Gopalan laid out the carrier's growth strategy, network investments and capital-allocation priorities at the Goldman Sachs Communacopia + Technology Conference, pointing to standalone 5G, flexible device financing and premium-plan adoption as drivers of continued wireless growth. Gopalan said T-Mobile remains on track for 950,000 to 1.05 million postpaid account net additions this year, having reached 500,000 at the midpoint of the year, and cited an 85 basis point year-over-year decline in churn in the prior quarter. On broadband, T-Mobile raised its 2030 fixed-wireless customer target to 15 million from 12 million previously and expects 3 million to 4 million fiber customers, targeting a doubling of its broadband business over the next four years. Gopalan said AI is central to both operations and strategy, citing $2.7 billion in value from AI initiatives and more than $100 million in planned investment in the Magenta AI Institute, and he noted a performance-based multiyear $12,000 grant for all employees representing close to a $1 billion investment. He also discussed the planned CFO transition, saying Peter Osvaldik had intended to leave around mid-2026 before agreeing to remain through the CEO transition, with the timing later shifting toward summer 2027, and that Jessica was selected as incoming CFO.

Vodafone, EE and Virgin Media O2 Push to Weaken Net Neutrality for 5G Fast Lanes
Vodafone, Virgin Media O2 and BT-owned EE are lobbying the UK government to water down net neutrality rules so they can prioritise certain internet traffic on their 5G networks. Vodafone has launched a premium 5G service called SuperMobile that promises speeds up to four times faster than regular 5G, while EE has introduced its own fast-lane service for crowded locations such as Wembley Stadium. The push follows Ofcom's 2023 revision of net neutrality rules, which clarified that mobile and broadband operators can offer premium services, and comes as part of the ongoing mobile market review. Vodafone SuperMobile will cost contract customers an extra £3 a month, while EE's upgraded service will cost an extra £5. Critics warn the changes risk creating a two-tier internet in which internet service providers become commercial gatekeepers, relegating everyday users and smaller businesses to the digital slow lane.
Rocket Lab and AST SpaceMobile both reported second-quarter 2026 results on August 10, 2026, with Rocket Lab posting $234.07 million in revenue, up 62.0% year over year, while AST SpaceMobile's revenue of $31.52 million missed consensus by 8.36%. Rocket Lab's backlog swelled to $2.36 billion, up 137%, with Space Systems contributing $189.5 million after the Mynaric and Motiv deals closed, and CEO Peter Beck called it another fantastic quarter. AST SpaceMobile's GAAP loss ballooned to -$0.77 per share after a $125.9 million charge tied to the BB7 launch incident, though its constellation now holds 13 spacecraft with roughly 20,000 square feet of aperture, and CEO Abel Avellan said the company is preparing to initiate beta services with select strategic partners. Rocket Lab's announced Iridium acquisition adds 66 satellites, 2.5 million subscribers, and more than $870 million in annual revenue, while its Neutron rocket, priced at a $50 to $55 million ASP, is targeting a Q4 2026 pad delivery, with Beck admitting the window for an end-of-year launch is narrowing. AST SpaceMobile has 60-plus MNO partners covering 3 billion subscribers, a preliminary $1 billion J-LEO award with Rakuten in Japan, and Block 2 satellites aimed at roughly 200 Mbps peak data rates, with Q2 capex hitting roughly $610 million. Both stocks have cooled, with RKLB down 22.56% over the past month and ASTS off 16.36%.

The model does not yet include Clicx Bank.
