DELTA drags Thai stocks below 1,600 points after $1.5 billion convertible bond

The Thai stock market swung lower and fell below the 1,600-point level during September 14-18, 2026, with DELTA the main stock weighing on the index after its parent company issued a $1.5 billion convertible bond exchangeable into DELTA shares. The conversion price was set at a premium of 15-20% for a one-year tenor, equivalent to 289-302 baht, and 30-40% for a five-year tenor, equivalent to 327-353 baht. As a result, bondholders short-sold the shares to reduce price risk. The bond was split into a one-year tranche worth $500 million and a five-year tranche worth $1.0 billion, issued by Delta of Taiwan to fund business expansion. Meanwhile, the Fed meeting raised interest rates by 25 basis points to 3.75-4.00%, as the market expected, and the Dot Plot projected rates at 4.1% for both end-2026 and end-2027. Tourism-related stocks AOT, MINT and CENTEL were pressured by the delay of the Thai Tiew Thai Plus measure from late 2026 to 2027. Oil and refinery stocks TOP, SPRC and BCP were pressured by an announcement in the Royal Gazette cutting the ex-refinery price for high-speed diesel by 4.00 baht per litre, from a previous reduction of 2.40 baht per litre. Banking stocks KBANK, KTB and BBL, along with insurers BLA and TLI, rose on expectations that interest rates are on an upward trend.

Amphenol AI Datacom Sales Surge 89% as CommScope Adds $1.2 Billion

Amphenol's IT datacom business, which represented 43% of the company's total sales in the second quarter of 2026, saw revenues surge 89% year over year and 63% organically, with management saying the AI revenue run rate has reached roughly $10.5-$11 billion. Management noted that virtually all of the 22% sequential IT datacom growth in the quarter came from AI-related products, as customers require more copper, optics and power for larger, more complex AI clusters. The company's acquisition of CommScope contributed more than $1.2 billion in sales in the quarter, with CommScope's IT datacom business nearly doubling year over year; management expects that market to account for just under half of CommScope's 2026 sales, compared with roughly one-third in 2025. Amphenol faces tough competition from TE Connectivity, whose Digital Data Networks sales rose 34% year over year in the third quarter of fiscal 2026 with bookings up more than 70% year to date, and from Marvell Technology, whose data-center revenues increased 46% year over year to $2.17 billion in the second quarter of fiscal 2027. Amphenol shares have risen 16% year to date, trailing the broader Zacks Computer and Technology sector's 17% gain, and trade at a forward 12-month price/earnings of 25.32X versus the sector's 20.38X, while the Zacks Consensus Estimate for earnings stands at 72 cents per share, up 5 cents over the past 30 days and implying 53.19% growth.

Cramer Urges Patience as Corning Launches $2 Billion Stock Sale

Jim Cramer told Mad Money viewers to wait for Corning Incorporated to fall further before trimming or holding, citing the company's at-the-market selling program. Corning disclosed on September 11 that it had entered an agreement with Goldman Sachs to sell up to $2 billion of common stock through an at-the-market offering, with proceeds intended for general corporate purposes. The prospectus assumes raising the full $2 billion at $165.96 per share would require issuing 12,051,097 shares, increasing shares outstanding from 861,388,331 to 873,439,428. The offering came as Corning's optical business remained strong: at a September 9 Citi conference, CFO Ed Schlesinger said optical demand was very strong and orders continue to pick up, and second-quarter Optical Communications sales rose 32% year over year to $2.07 billion while core sales increased 17% to $4.74 billion. The bear case centers on execution, as Corning targets a $10 billion scale-up photonics business by the end of the decade tied largely to adoption of NPO and CPO technologies, and expects full-year 2026 capital expenditures of approximately $2 billion compared with $754 million spent in the first half of the year.

Bualuang keeps TRADING BUY on KCE with 70 baht target, sees further price hikes through 2027

Bualuang Securities says a new angle for KCE shares is the possibility that the selling price increase cycle could extend into 2027, even though the market has already priced in the July increase and another in the fourth quarter of 2026. The key driver is not direct demand for AI circuit boards, but the cost of standard E-glass, the upstream raw material for CCL, which continues to rise after producers gradually shifted capacity to higher-grade materials for AI that offer better returns. Morgan Stanley's price index for standard E-glass fiber rose from 1.0 times in September 2025 to 3.7 times in August 2026 and 4.1 times in September 2026, while KCE's fiberglass purchase price rose from 0.49 US dollars per meter in the second quarter of 2025 to 0.74 US dollars per meter in the second quarter of 2026, an increase of 51% year on year, which is still much smaller than the rise in upstream raw material prices, leaving a risk that cost pressure will feed through further. The research team has not yet included a third price increase in 2027 in its base-case estimates, because the general-grade CCL market is not yet entirely in shortage. It keeps its assumptions for the July and fourth-quarter 2026 price increases, maintains its TRADING BUY rating with a 70 baht target price, and views any additional price increase in 2027 as upside rather than part of the base case. Core profit is expected at 1.44 billion baht in 2026, up 78% year on year, 2.07 billion baht in 2027, up 43.9%, and 2.30 billion baht in 2028, up 11.1%.

Kasikorn Securities Maintains Buy on SYNEX with 11.47 Baht Target, Citing IT and Apple Demand in Second Half of 2026

Kasikorn Securities, or KS, said in an analysis that it maintains a positive view on the growth outlook for Synnex (Thailand), or SYNEX, in the second half of 2026 after attending the company's Partner Connect 2026 event on September 10, 2026. SYNEX estimates that Thailand's information technology spending in 2026 will be approximately 1.1 trillion baht, up 8.4% from the previous year, while Gartner data as of April 2026 showed device spending up 8.2%, IT services up 9.0%, software up 15.1%, and data center systems up 55.8%. The company expects sales of Apple products to grow from the previous year, driven by new products in the iPhone 18 Series, and maintains its 2026 sales target at 53 billion baht, up 12% from the previous year. KS expects SYNEX's sales in the third quarter of 2026 to grow both year-on-year and quarter-on-quarter, supported by still-strong hardware replacement demand in both the private and public sectors, together with higher average selling prices for Android smartphones and Apple products. It maintains a buy recommendation with a target price of 11.47 baht, viewing any share price weakness after the launch of new iPhone models as an opportunity to accumulate at 9.20 baht or below, which reflects SYNEX's lowest PER in 14 years. It expects normal profit in 2026 to grow 14%, while Core EPS over the three-year period has an average annual growth rate of 10.4%.

Analysts at Trinity Securities issued a warning urging investors to exercise particular caution with HANA shares after their latest calculations found the stock could be placed back under trading supervision measures by the Stock Exchange of Thailand's announcement later this week, as its trading value has already exceeded the threshold. If this happens and lasts about 3 weeks under normal announcement criteria, combined with data from the recent period, HANA shares would remain on that list for more than 3 months since June. Based on the SET's criteria, this would put the stock at immediate risk of being removed from the SET100 index calculation in the next semi-annual review for the first half of 2027.

Krungsri keeps Buy on AMARC with 3.80 baht target, expects 0.20 baht dividend

Krungsri Securities maintains a Buy rating on Asia Medical and Agricultural Laboratory and Research Center, or AMARC, with a target price of 3.80 baht, based on a DCF valuation at a WACC of 8.1%, implying a 2026 P/E of 11 times. It views the revenue softness in the third quarter of 2026 as a short-term effect of price competition in durian export quality inspection services, expecting total service revenue to fall both year on year from 128 million baht in the third quarter of 2025 and quarter on quarter from 135 million baht in the second quarter of 2026. Meanwhile, 2027 profit has room to return to 8% year-on-year growth on a recovery in service revenue and margin expansion. The company targets instrument calibration service revenue in 2027 to grow at least 50% year on year, accelerating from this year's target of about 25-30% year on year, with calibration services currently accounting for roughly 4% of total service revenue. The company also announced the completion of its share buyback program for financial management, repurchasing a total of 20 million shares, or 4.76% of issued shares, for a total value of 65 million baht, or an average cost of 3.25 baht per share. It is expected to pay a dividend of 0.20 baht per share this year, a dividend yield of about 7%.

Yuanta rates SMT a Buy with 7.60 baht target, flags Optical as growth driver and 70% profit jump in 2026

Yuanta Securities (Thailand) said in an analysis note after visiting the factory of Stars Microelectronics (Thailand), or SMT, that the recovery trend in its business has become clearer, with second-quarter 2026 results reflecting a rebound in revenue, capacity utilisation and margins, and it expects the third and fourth quarters of 2026 to improve significantly on the prior quarter. SMT currently has advance orders covering roughly 8 to 12 months of production and targets 2026 revenue of no less than 2.6 billion baht, while for 2027 it expects growth of more than 10%, or above 3 billion baht. Yuanta views current estimates as based on fairly conservative assumptions and sees upside if orders convert to revenue faster than expected, particularly in wafer dicing, where market supply is constrained. Yuanta sees the Optical business becoming SMT's new growth engine on the back of AI growth, since the Optical and OSAT segments benefit directly from AI infrastructure investment and carry higher margins than the traditional business. Revenue from SMT's AI-related customers is still at an early stage and accounts for less than 5% of total revenue, but has the chance to rise to at least 10% next year. Meanwhile, its collaboration with Lumentum, a major player in the global Optical supply chain, marks an important starting point covering joint investment and development work. Yuanta expects SMT revenue of 2.67 billion baht in 2026, rising to 3.11 billion baht in 2027, and forecasts normalised profit of 150 million baht in 2026, rising to 256 million baht in 2027, or growth of about 70% from the previous year. On 2027 valuation, the stock trades at a PER of about 19 times, still below peers trading at roughly 28 to 58 times. Yuanta maintains its Buy rating on SMT with a target price of 7.60 baht, based on a PER of 25 times, compared with the closing price on 15 September 2026 of 5.85 baht, implying upside of about 29.9%.

Avnet and HKU Open EMUS Lab to Speed AI Hardware Commercialization

Avnet and The University of Hong Kong have officially opened the Emerging Microelectronics and Ubiquitous Systems Lab, or EMUS Lab, a collaborative innovation hub at the Data Technology Hub in Tseung Kwan O InnoPark aimed at accelerating AI hardware commercialization. The Lab focuses on next-generation technologies including edge AI, physical AI, robotics, high-performance computing and emerging microelectronics, offering innovators engineering consultation, GPU computing resources, prototyping support, manufacturability assessments and supply chain expertise. One of its first major industry engagement initiatives is the DfMA Launchpad for AI MMP Programme, a 12-month co-incubation programme linking EMUS Lab, Avnet and the startup ecosystem of Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation, which has already selected 27 startup teams to participate. Research supported by Avnet-sponsored GPU infrastructure has contributed to publications in Nature family journals and presentations at leading AI conferences including ICLR and ICML. Arthur Chung, Vice President, Sales and Supplier Management, Asia, at Avnet, said building a great AI model is only the beginning and that turning AI innovation into a reliable, manufacturable and scalable product remains one of the biggest barriers to commercialization. Prof. Ngai Wong, Associate Professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at HKU Faculty of Engineering and Director of EMUS Lab, said the Lab was established to bridge the gap between cutting-edge research and real-world application.

DELTA rises 3% as broker says $1.5 billion exchangeable bond issue will not dilute EPS, recommends Buy with 300 baht target

DELTA shares jumped 3% after analysts said the issuance of exchangeable bonds worth a total of $1.50 billion by Delta Electronics International (Singapore) Pte. Ltd., a shareholder and subsidiary of Delta Electronics Inc., will not pressure earnings per share. The bonds will be issued on September 21, 2026, in two tranches. Tranche A has a principal amount of $500 million, a one-year term, and matures on September 21, 2027, with an initial exchange price of 266.80 baht per share, a 15% premium to the reference price of 232 baht per share. Tranche B has a principal amount of $1 billion, a five-year term, and matures on September 21, 2031, with an initial exchange price of 301.60 baht per share, a 30% premium to the same reference price. If the exchange rights are fully exercised, Tranche A would cover approximately 62.1 million DELTA shares and Tranche B approximately 109.9 million shares, for a total of about 172.1 million shares, or roughly 1.38% of DELTA's issued and paid-up shares. This compares with the exchangeable bonds issued by Delta International Holding Limited B.V. in January 2025 worth $525 million, which covered about 97.4 million shares, or 0.78% of issued and paid-up shares. Kasikorn Securities Public Company Limited assesses that this bond issuance uses existing shares to support the exchange rather than issuing new shares, so it will not reduce earnings per share, and the issuer remains subject to a 90-day lock-up on share sales. It therefore maintains its Buy recommendation with a mid-2027 target price of 300 baht, based on a target price-to-earnings ratio of 92 times.

Coda Octopus Group reported third-quarter fiscal 2026 results on September 14 that crossed a threshold the company had never reached in its public history: positive retained earnings, after years of operating at an accumulated deficit. ScanSource Closes $220.5 Million MicroAge Acquisition

ScanSource Inc. has closed its all-cash acquisition of MicroAge, a full-service solutions integrator with a 50-year legacy of enterprise support, in a deal valued at $220.5 million and financed through ScanSource's existing credit facility. Management expects the acquisition to be accretive to gross profit margin, adjusted EBITDA margin and non-GAAP EPS in the first year following closing, while also being free-cash-flow positive, and says it expands ScanSource's capabilities in higher-margin IT solutions and services including cloud, cybersecurity, data center and AI. The announcement follows ScanSource's fiscal 2026 fourth quarter results, in which net sales rose 17.3% to $953.1 million and non-GAAP diluted EPS of $1.46 surged 43.1% from the same period last year. The deal adds leverage because ScanSource is relying on borrowings to finance it, and management's expected margin, earnings and free-cash-flow benefits remain projections rather than realized results. Institutional data tracked by Insider Monkey shows hedge fund exposure to ScanSource rose to 20 funds by the end of the second quarter of 2026 from 16 in the previous quarter, with BlackRock the largest institutional investor at 3.84 million shares, or 19.07% of outstanding shares.
