ScanSource Closes $220.5 Million MicroAge Acquisition
ScanSource Inc. has closed its all-cash acquisition of MicroAge, a full-service solutions integrator with a 50-year legacy of enterprise support, in a deal valued at $220.5 million and financed through ScanSource's existing credit facility. Management expects the acquisition to be accretive to gross profit margin, adjusted EBITDA margin and non-GAAP EPS in the first year following closing, while also being free-cash-flow positive, and says it expands ScanSource's capabilities in higher-margin IT solutions and services including cloud, cybersecurity, data center and AI. The announcement follows ScanSource's fiscal 2026 fourth quarter results, in which net sales rose 17.3% to $953.1 million and non-GAAP diluted EPS of $1.46 surged 43.1% from the same period last year. The deal adds leverage because ScanSource is relying on borrowings to finance it, and management's expected margin, earnings and free-cash-flow benefits remain projections rather than realized results. Institutional data tracked by Insider Monkey shows hedge fund exposure to ScanSource rose to 20 funds by the end of the second quarter of 2026 from 16 in the previous quarter, with BlackRock the largest institutional investor at 3.84 million shares, or 19.07% of outstanding shares.
ScanSource Completes $220.5 Million MicroAge Acquisition
ScanSource completed its all-cash acquisition of MicroAge for $220.5 million on September 2, just two weeks after the deal was first announced on August 20. The purchase was funded by drawing on ScanSource's existing credit facility, adding to a balance sheet that carried $101.4 million of total debt and $88.4 million of cash as of June 30. The deal layers an IT solutions integrator with roughly 2,400 clients and more than 200 employees onto a distributor that has historically made its money moving hardware, and ScanSource has said it should lift gross margin, EBITDA margin and non-GAAP earnings per share within its first year. The closing followed a fourth quarter in which net sales rose 17.3% year over year to $953.1 million, diluted GAAP earnings per share jumped from $0.88 to $1.24, and non-GAAP earnings per share rose from $1.02 to $1.46. Fiscal 2027 guidance of 6% to 10% net sales growth and $158 million to $165 million of adjusted EBITDA was issued on August 20, before the MicroAge deal closed, and specifically excludes it.

TWZ Recognises 74.06 Million Baht Credit Loss, Dragging Down Q2 2026 Results
TWZ Corporation Public Company Limited, or TWZ, disclosed that it was affected by a single trade debtor with liquidity constraints that was unable to pay for goods on schedule, forcing it to recognise an expected credit loss of 74.06 million baht in the second quarter of 2026. That loss represents approximately 14.21% of second-quarter 2026 operating revenue of 519.40 million baht, and about 57.89% of the loss attributable to shareholders of the parent company in the second quarter of 2026, which stood at 127.53 million baht. The company stated that this debtor had purchased goods on a lump-sum basis according to the scope of work and paid for goods by instalment cheques, before requesting an extension of the repayment period. SPVI to begin selling iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max on September 18
SPVI Public Company Limited, or SPVI, is preparing to launch the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max on the first day of availability, September 18, through both in-store and online channels. Managing Director Traisorn Worayankosol said the company is confident in purchasing power in the premium market, which is the core customer base for the Pro and Pro Max models. Prices for the new iPhone 18 lineup have risen by about 5,000 baht compared with the launch prices of the iPhone 17 on a model-by-model basis, driven by higher component costs, especially memory. At the same time, memory chip constraints are likely to steer component allocation toward newer, higher-value products, while supply of some older iPhone models such as the iPhone 13 and iPhone 15 is beginning to thin in the market. The company is also watching the iPhone Duo foldable smartphone, which is expected to start appearing in the market in mid-to-late October and is expected to help support sales in the fourth quarter of 2026. On sales strategy, the company is giving weight to sales through branch stores even though online channels are available, so that products reach actual users and to reduce purchases for resale. It is also using financial services and installment channels from non-bank groups to make it easier for customers to access the products.

SYNEX Confident High-Priced iPhone 18 and iPhone Duo Will Sell Well, Boosting Second-Half Revenue; Targets 2026 Revenue of 53 Billion Baht
Ms. Suthida Mongkolsuthree, Chief Executive Officer of Synnex (Thailand) Public Company Limited, or SYNEX, disclosed that the company is not concerned about the higher prices of the iPhone 18 and the iPhone Duo, Apple's first foldable-screen smartphone, because the most expensive models have always sold the best in the past, and new stock has already begun arriving at the company in batches. The company expects the volume of new stock to be no less than last year. Meanwhile, price increases and the discontinuation of certain iPhone models have not affected the company much, because Apple products have been in short supply since the start of the year, so there is no leftover old inventory and no need to run clearance promotions. The Android market remains lively, driven by Korean and Chinese brands that continue to launch new products throughout the year. For its first-half results, SYNEX reported net profit of 445 million baht, up 17.7%, and total revenue of 23.122 billion baht, up 1.3%. The company is confident that its 2026 results will meet its revenue target of 53 billion baht, even though first-half revenue was affected by the absence of Apple product deliveries, as its remaining businesses grew across all segments. It expects the second half to be better than the first half now that Apple products are starting to fill in. In addition, the company is looking for new growth in the robotics business, with plans to travel to China to inspect operations and negotiate business with partners, focusing mainly on the commercial and industrial segments in the initial phase. It also sees opportunities from the new PDP plan covering data centers, AI, and the transition to electric vehicles. Meanwhile, an analysis by Kasikorn Securities Public Company Limited views the launch of the iPhone Duo as a positive sentiment driver for shares of electronic component makers and Apple product distributors in Thailand, with the main beneficiaries being COM7, ADVICE, SYNEX, and SPVI.
SYNEX confident revenue will top 53 billion baht in 2026, boosted by Apple and AI
SYNEX Public Company Limited, or SYNEX, has set its 2026 revenue target at 53 billion baht, confident it will meet or exceed the goal after first-half sales reached 23.122 billion baht, with most sales expected to come in the second half. Chief Executive Officer Suthida Mongkolsuthi said key drivers come from new product launches and sales, especially in the Apple product group, where the company aims for sales growth through its many distribution channels and partners. Even though the overall IT industry remains under pressure from supply chain tightness, demand for Apple products in particular is still so high that the company is confident products will sell out as soon as they reach the market. Meanwhile, costs for memory and storage products are likely to keep rising through the end of the year, driven by the AI growth trend that has hyperscalers competing for enormous amounts of hardware components and production capacity. The company manages this risk by diversifying its portfolio of product brands. As for future businesses, the company plans to travel to China in October to negotiate deals and study technology, focusing on commercial service robots, and expects clarity on the new product group and an actual product launch within the fourth quarter of 2026. At the same time, SYNEX is pressing ahead with its shift from distribution to value creation under the concept The Next Chapter of SYNNEX – From Distribution to Value Creation, building on partnerships with more than 70 global technology brands and over 6,000 distribution channels.
SYNEX expects sales growth on the back of Apple's new product launches, keeps this year's revenue target at 53 billion baht
SYNEX (Thailand) Public Company Limited, or SYNEX, has maintained its revenue target for this year at 53 billion baht, after posting 23.312 billion baht in the first half, and expects sales this year to grow from a year earlier on the back of new product launches from Apple. Chief Executive Officer Suthida Mongkolsuthree said at the SYNNEX PARTNER CONNECT 2026 event that the company has many partners, allowing it to sell Apple products through a wide range of channels, and that she views Apple's price adjustments as having little impact on purchasing power, because the first batches, which carry the highest prices, tend to sell out and fail to meet demand. She also said that shortages of IT products and rising prices, particularly in the Storage or Memory segment, will continue through the end of this year, as hyperscalers compete for AI-related supply. Meanwhile, the company plans to import robotics from China to sell in Thailand, and will visit factories there in October 2026 after negotiating with some manufacturers, starting with the commercial segment, covering robotic arms, humanoid forms, and pet-like forms. It also announced its growth direction for 2027 under the concept The Next Chapter of SYNNEX – From Distribution to Value Creation, building on partnerships with more than 70 global technology brands and more than 6,000 distribution channels.
SYNNEX targets 2026 revenue of 53 billion baht on AI, Cloud and Robotics trends
Suthida Mongkolsuthree, Chief Executive Officer of SYNNEX (Thailand) Public Company Limited, or SYNNEX, disclosed that the company has set a revenue target of 53 billion baht for 2026. In the first half of the year it already generated revenue of 23.312 billion baht. Although that is not yet half of the full-year target, the company views it as in line with the nature of the IT business, where sales tend to be weighted heavily toward the second half, and new products will be gradually launched, so it is confident that operating results will grow in line with the target. The company plans to push further into the Commercial and Enterprise markets and to adjust its business model from being an IT product distributor to becoming a Solution Provider under the concept of One IT Ecosystem, which comprises four pillars: Service Point, SWOPMART, Device Financing and Product Care Plus, or iCare Plus. On the supply chain side, the company is facing shortages of certain product categories relative to demand, especially Storage and Memory, where demand has surged on the expansion of Hyperscaler groups for AI systems. As a result, prices of these technology products are likely to keep rising through the end of the year, and higher costs may be passed on to end consumers. The company is therefore using a diversification strategy, adjusting its product portfolio and offering other brands or products with similar specifications as substitutes. In addition, SYNNEX is preparing to move into the Commercial Robotics market and is in the process of joining hands with suppliers from China to import commercial robots and industrial robots to market in Thailand. Clarity and an official launch are expected next year.
